Donna Keim, President 

  •  Education: Bachelor of Arts (BA), Western Illinois University, Macomb, IL
  •  Present Employment:  Lujack's Northpark Auto Plaza, Commercial/Fleet Manager
  • Tenure:  4 years
  •  Non-Work Focus: Family, Jordan Catholic School finance committee, PMI, Annual Bridgeway Children's Christmas Auction (For children 13-18 who do not qualify for Toys for Tots) 
  • Family: Husband - Jerry and son - Jeremy 
  • Passion: Professionally: Life long learning, project management, six sigma, embracing change and new ideas, teambuilding. Personally: Reading, cooking, baking and gardening. 

Earning my PMP certification has allowed me to focus my career goals. The process of studying and testing for my PMP provided me with additional tools and knowledge that along with my experience qualify me for a career change and a position in project management. 

Being a member of QC PMI has helped me grow professionally. I enjoy the opportunity to give back to my fellow PMI members as well as the opportunity to network with like-thinking individuals. I have enjoyed nurturing strong professional and personal relationships both in our local chapter and with our monthly speakers. 

 

 David Gregor, Vice President of Communications  

  • Education: University of Saskatchewan, Bsc. Ag Eng. , Professional Engineer, P. Eng., Executive MBA University of Iowa, MBA, PMP 2009 
  • Present Employment: Deere and Company, Project Manager - Technical Knowledge
  • Tenure: 26 years of Engineering and Project Management with branch and manufacturing experience 
  • Non - Work Focus: Ski instructor, Hockey Coach, Ministry, Entrepreneur, Travel 
  • Family: My wife Karri, Christina and Brock 
  • Passion: Knowledge Management 

Earning the PMP certification has helped me define the processes and data structure for 50 global business units at John Deere.  Common language, tools and processes help our many units 'speak' the same language, reduce cycle time and deploy project communication.  Being part of the PMI QCA local chapter and serving on the Board has enhanced my network in the community, provides opportunities for mentoring and coaching.   

 

 Beth Fox, Vice President of Special Projects 

  •  Education: Masters Business Administration - The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania; Bachelor of Arts French/International Business - Illinois State University, PMP Certification:  2009
  •  Present Employment: Genesis Health System - Information Technology, Supervisor - Business Applications 
  • Tenure:  17 years at Genesis serving in multiple capacities drawing upon project management skills to provide strategic and business operations planning ; process improvement; information system requirements identification, system installation, and optimization; fund raising; marketing; facility management; general supervision and business management.  Prior to Genesis similar skills were used and developed in other industries including retail, print manufacturing, and non-traditional fund raising for an international conservation organization. 
  • Non - Work Focus:  Music, Reading, Bible Study and Sunday School Teacher 
  • Family: My husband, Kal, and sons Brennan (18) and Tyler (17) 
  • Passion: Facilitating change and coaching individuals to meet their professional and personal goals. 

The process of earning the PMP Certification helped me develop a more comprehensive knowledge base to supplement formal education and work experience.  Studying the different areas moved me to a higher level of expertise and awareness making me a more effective project manager and business leader.  Certification and membership in PMI at both the local and national level provide valuable tools and networking that support my lead role in expanding and enhancing project/process management within the Genesis Information Technology Department and the health system as a whole.    

   

John Menard, Vice President of Finance

  •  Education:  BS, Engineering Sciences, United States Military Academy, West Point, NY.  MBA, St Ambrose University, Davenport, IA.   PMP 2007 
  • Present Employment:  John Deere & Company,  IT Project Manager - John Deere Information Systems 
  • Tenure:  After serving honorably as an Officer in the U.S. Army, I chose a new career path with John Deere & Co.  I have been with Deere for 19 years, and during that time have worked in the Construction and Forestry division's Engineering, Customer Support, Marketing, Training and Sales Management areas.  I now work in John Deere information Systems as an IT Project Manager delivering business system and computer network solutions to the Deere dealers. 
  • Non - Work Focus:   I am an active member of the West Point Society of the Prairies, am a Huddle Coach for the Bettendorf High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), am a member of the St. John Vianney Catholic Church, and am focused on my family. 
  • Family: My wife Eleni, Alexandra (19) and Katherine (17)
  • Passion: I truly enjoy working with people/teams to achieve common goals and objectives, enjoy Managing and Mentoring young employees, and recruit young leaders for the Military Academies  

Earning the PMP credential has helped me become a well-versed leader in project management practices.  As a PMP, I continually strive to leverage my project management knowledge, and share this knowledge within the project management community.  I greatly enjoy being a part of the PMI QCA local chapter and enjoy serving on its Board.  The PMI chapter affords me dedicated time, monthly, that I can meet and network with PMs and business professionals from local area businesses.   

 

Mike O'Connor, Vice President of Professional Development 

  •  Education: BS - Indiana University; MBA - University of Dayton; PMP - 2006, Masters Certificate in Project Management - 2007 
  • Present Employment: HNI Corporation - Muscatine, IA; IT Auditor & Project Manager 
  • Tenure: NCR Corporation (19 years) Management experience in Finance, Accounting, Administration, Quality, Operations, and IT - including 7 years of project management in Finance and Data Warehousing.   HNI - 5 years of project management in software application development, with a recent shift to IT/Sarbanes-Oxley Auditing. 
  • Non-Work Focus: Golf, Hunting, Fishing, Motorcycles, Biblical Studies 
  • Family: My high school sweetheart and wife, Michelle, and sons Ian (23) and Sean (20) 
  • Passion: Converting vision into actionable plans - then leading and motivating a team to "get it done" .... serving others less fortunate than myself  

Earning PMP certification filled in "knowledge gaps", years of project management experience hadn't addressed.   This enables me to communicate more effectively, in a field with many processes, acronyms and definitions.   As a new member of the Board, my emphasis will be taking ownership for professional development and assisting other Board Members.    I joined the Board to assist chapter members with their continuing education needs.      

  

B. Howard Penix, MBA and PMP, Major USAF (retired)

  • Previous Employment:  Bandag Inc. (various managerial and special consultant roles); USAF 
  • Tenure: 9 years; 20 years 
  • Non-Work Focus:  Lutheran Chaplaincy Outreach for U of I; German American Heritage Center, Davenport; Muscatine Symphony Orchestra Association; Not For Profit organizational management 
  • Family: Son, Mother 
  • Passion: Music, Reading, Political Activism

Earning the PMP certification validated to my civilian employers that I had to training and experiences to meet the on-time/on-budget/quality challenges of the many projects I was given.  Being a board member of the QCPMI Chapter allows me to give back to the project management field and help others better themselves and their projects.
